New CEU: NTI’s NTD Urban Reporting
This was back in February, but I went out to Salt Lake City to complete the National Transit Institute’s National Transit Database Reporting training. While the agency I work with does not report to the NTD, most of the operators that we partner with do and I wanted to find out what the reporting requirements were. As a result, we modified out data collection to include some additional fields that may help with NTD reporting in the future.
On another note, I found Salt Lake City to be a rather strange place. The street grid is designed to always let you know exactly where you are in relation to the main Mormon temple. 400 W 200 S? Well, that is 4 blocks west and 2 blocks south of the temple. The roads are also abnormally large.
On the plus side, the bird sanctuary that is there is pretty nice. I am sorry that I missed the chance to feed the raptors, but the timing just didn’t work out.
