Design: Melrose Promenade Muffins on Melrose
Muffins on Melrose was an outreach effort in support of the Melrose Promenade Project. Volunteers from the community gave out free muffins, coffee, and tea as a conversation starter for the future of Melrose Ave, which is today a relatively unattractive road and bike/pedestrian link with a massive amount of potential. it sits above I-5 and has an unobstructed view of South Lake Union. The proposal is for a revitalization of the street to make it more attractive and an asset for local residents. The group is working with the Berger Partnership, Weinstein | AU, and Schemata Workshop to take community feedback and turn it into a vision for an all ages and abilities complete street that creates attractive public spaces for the local neighborhood.
In addition to the traditional invites and designed flyers for the event (such as the black and white arrow advertisement), I also created a small series of graphics for their facebook page, which are geared towards internet savvy users that play off of internet memes.
